Banking Exam and its Recruitment Process

Upcoming Bank ExamsIn Indian Economy, banking is considered as sunrise sector and fastest growing sector. Indian government focusing on providing banking facilitates to village and city.   1. Bank Probationary Officer:

The Bank PO is the scale 1 officer. PO is basically managerial post known as an Assistant Manager. The probation period may last for two years which may differ from bank to bank. When candidate selected for the post of PO they offered the post of Assistant Manager (AM) and Deputy Manager (DM). The process of recruitment happens in three levels: Preliminary Test, Mains Test, and Interview Process.

  1. Bank Clerk:

As per the name, this is a clerical position that directly handles customer responsibilities and takes care of the customer.  It is considered as an entry-level job in a bank. It is mandatory for a candidate to clear both preliminary exam and Mains exam to be eligible for this post.

  1. Specialist Officer:

Banks also hire candidates for specialist profiles like – IT Officer, Agriculture Officer, HR Officer, Finance Officer, Marketing Officer, Law Officer, Etc. Usually, the grade and the starting salary of Specialist Officer is in the same range as Probationary Officers.

Every year banking exams are conducted for the recruitment of posts like Bank PO, Bank Clerk, and Bank SO. These exams conducted in following categories:

  • IBPS PO

  • IBPS Specialist Officers (IBPS SO)

  • IBPS Regional Rural Bank Exam

  • SBI Probationary Officer

  • SBI Clerk

  • RBI Grade B Exam

  • RBI Assistants Exam

Bank recruitment process is divided into three phases. In which first two phases are conducted as written test known as Preliminary exam and Mains exam. The candidate who cracks these both exams is selected for the next phase that is an interview process. The weightage of written test is 80% whereas interview is of 20%, on this basis the candidates are shortlisted.

The written test is generally conducted to test the General aptitude of the candidates. In prelims 100 questions are asked from three different sections as follow:

  • Quantitative Aptitude (35 Questions)

  • Reasoning Ability (35 Questions)

  • English Language (30 Questions)

In mains exam, here asked 200 questions in the exam this is categorized as follows:

  • Quantitative Aptitude

  • Reasoning Ability

  • English Language

  • General Awareness

  • Basic Computer Knowledge
